My Journey

For years I’ve been working on disparate pieces of a healthy lifestyle–food, exercise, yoga, meditation–without a cohesive success. At the beginning of 2012, I decided that I did not want to turn 30 in 2013 feeling like I had no control over my body or my health. So I started learning more about nutrition, doing yoga, taking cross-fit classes and running.

After months of painful running thanks to chronic shin splints, I discovered Chi Running: “a revolutionary approach to effortless, injury-free running.” Chi Running entails a specific running form and technique, but it is also about being mindful, running with intention, and tapping into your ch’i. This philosophy fit perfectly with my burgeoning yoga practice and I started this blog to chronicle the learning process and to hold myself more accountable to my goals.

Follow along as I learn how to run all over again while training for my first half marathon in February, 2013. You can also find me on twitter and pinterest or email me at chijourneysteph@gmail.com.

If you’re wondering what Chi Running is go here and learn more about it. I am not a certified instructor and the words I write here should only be read as my interpretation of chi running and my personal journey to learn the practice.
